Planning Guides Sent To Towns
LIB is asking 250 Illinois towns to become more bike-friendly. Mayors and other officials were sent our guide on doing a bike plan and achieving Bicycle Friendly Community status. You can help - just leave a message for your mayor, mentioning the mailing and your support of improving bike conditions in town.

State Bills to Reform Grant Programs
H.B. 4757 and S.B. 2311, the Transportation Enhancements and Safe Routes to School Transparency Act, seeks to increase the accountability and effectiveness of two IDOT-administered federal programs important to bicycling. 04/10/08: H.B.4757 won 109-0 in the House on April 2, and S.B.2311 passed the Senate 56-0 on April 10. Each will now moves to the other chamber.
