Bike Safety Essay Contest

Thanks to all the Illinois 4th and 5th graders who entered essays in bike safety contest. The deadline for submitting an essay ended on March 31.

The first, second and third place winners will be announced on May 14 in Springfield at a news conference hosted by Secretary of State Jesse White with the League of Illinois Bicyclists and the Trek Bicycle Corp. First place winners in each grade will receive a Trek mountain bike and a helmet. All other winners will receive Trek helmets.

We appreciate the assistance provided by school principals and teachers to get their students thinking about bike safety.
